So for the record, for anyone curious, this world I've created, doesn't have a 'common' language. There is a galactic written language, but it's not meant to be spoken at all. There are too many races with varying vocal cords, and a language that one race can speak might not be possible for another to. 

I'm not a linguist, not even a hobby one, but I love languages and writing systems. It's a big part of this comic, and I promise that it will be revealed and explained as the comic goes on. I know how everything works, but the fun is in the world-building which is something I also really love, and I want the comic to stand alone without blog posts.
