Welcome to the new year! I know I probably have like 5 readers at this point, so I'm sure I didn't annoy anyone with that cliffhanger, but it worked out so nicely with the timing.
WHAAAAAAAALEEEEESHIPPPPPPPPPPPPP. These are very rare, by the way. That's why she was so surprised to see one.
And more language notes - something I will elaborate in more detail in the future, but for now... Some things are universal. Sure, I could come up with alien words for every critter and food and phrases, but as anyone who has consumed fantasy or sci-fi media knows, that's exhausting. For the writer and readers alike. So for things like the word "Whale" - I use the word whale because in my opinion, any large planet with large bodies of water will have something resembling what we, aliens of Earth call a Whale. So most languages will have a word that roughly translates to Whale. So a spaceship (??) that looks like a whale? It's a Whaleship. Yeah, I could call it a JunupaShip or something and say that Junupa means whale, but in what language? Would every race have a different word for a Whaleship? Probably they do anyways, but it's just a Whaleship, okay? I'm going to be playing with language a lot in this comic, but this is not the place for it.
